Half a century of climate change predictions gone wrong

Alternate headline: Think tank documents decades of Chicken Little getting it wrong.

This is from the Competitive Enterprise Institute, and it demonstrates how effectively climate change agitators have been scaring people for 50 years. These frightening prognostications, always faithfully repeated in the media, have foretold a crazy array of imminent disasters – an ice age, wars, hurricanes, droughts, floods, whole countries swallowed up... all certain if the world failed to act on climate change right freakin' now, y'all!

Here are just a few, followed by a few thoughts on why this is not harmless bullshit. We start with one of the world's worst doomsayers, Stanford's Paul Ehrlich.

1967: ‘Dire famine by 1975.’

"It is already too late for the world to avoid a long period of famine... He said the population of the United States is already too big, that birth control may have to be accomplished by making it involuntary and by putting sterilizing agents into staple foods and drinking water, and that the Roman Catholic Church should be pressured into going along with routine measures of population control.

1969: ‘Everyone will disappear in a cloud of blue steam by 1989.’

Same guy: "We must realize that unless we are extremely lucky, everyone will disappear in a cloud of blue steam in 20 years."

1970: Ice age by 2000

"Air pollution will obliterate the sun and cause an ice age in the first third of the next century."

1974: ‘New Ice Age Coming Fast’

"Worldwide and rapid trends towards a mini Ice Age are emerging from the first long term analyses of satellite weather pictures."

"An increase in snow and ice cover coupled with a decrease in cloud cover, or even with no change in cloud cover, means that more of the incoming energy from the sun is reflected straight out again thus further reducing temperatures."

Also 1974: Ozone Depletion a ‘Great Peril to Life’

1978: ‘No End in Sight’ to 30-Year Cooling Trend

1988: Maldives completely under water in 30 years

...

2009: Prince Charles says only 8 years to save the planet

And on, and on, and on...

Charlatan Paul R. Ehrlich, now 87 years old and still very much alive and lying, is still being quoted and referred to by man-made climate change cuckoos today.

So is James Hansen, who got a late start (1988) on climate squawking but hasn't stopped lying to people and politicians since. Lester Brown of Worldwatch Institute. Al Gore. Barack Obama. Prince Charles. Bill Nye the (junk)Science Guy.

These people have been globetrotting and dining out on climate change for decades, and people keep listening to them! Why?

The biggest problem with all this is that the media outlets that gave voice to the doomsayers have never gone back to them and demanded explanation. These people are treated as experts... gurus... soothsayers. They were all wrong. And no one asks them what happened?

Here's the truth: Anthropogenic Climate Change is a multi-billion dollar racket.

The experts predict disaster.

The media, eager for ratings, clicks and shares, parrots the dire forecasts.

People who are just trying to live peacefully and securely get scared and demand action.

Politicians, eager for votes and consolidation of power, campaign on protecting you from disaster.

Politicians then spend untold billions of your tax dollars funding more "research," with a wink and a nod promising that there's more where that came from if... if... you know...

The experts predict new and interesting disasters and the cycle repeats.

Foxey Loxey cackles in delight. "Come on in," he says.

"You go in, and you never need to come out again."
