University of Alabama President Robert E. Witt has been selected to be the next chancellor for the UA system.
The UA Board of Trustees announced their decision during a meeting this afternoon presided over by Gov. Robert Bentley.UA system spokeswoman Kellee Reinhart said Witt will leave his role as President to take over as chancellor and a search committee for the next UA President will be formed. Executive Vice President and Provost Judy Bonner has been named the interim president
