The Tiger Athletic Foundation board gave unanimous approval to proceed with a Tiger Stadium expansion plan to enclose the South end zone upper deck, The Advocate reported Tuesday.Read the rest here.
LSU Vice Chancellor and Athletics Director Joe Alleva said the project is subject to bond approval and an OK from the Board of Supervisors and Board of Regents, "but the ball is rolling and we're going to try to make this happen." Alleva told The Advocate the addition could be ready in time for the 2014 season but "hopefully 2015 for sure."
The project calls for the building of a free standing structure above the South end zone to connect the East and West upper decks. The increased seating would include 1,500 seat upper deck on top of a club level of 4,000 seats and two levels totaling 60 suites with room for 24 seats in each suite.
