Hurricane Paula: No threat to the Gulf. YET

Paula became a Hurricane just off the Yucatan Peninsula in the wee hours this morning.  Click this link to visit the Tropical Update page powered by StormPulse, and turn on the forecast models.  They're all over the place!

Here’s the latest Intellicast Infrared Satellite view of the storm.

There’s no telling where the thing is headed, but it doesn’t appear to be a significant threat to the US mainland.

We’ve been quite fortunate during the 2010 season.  There have been no major landfalling storms, despite a very busy season.  Paula is the sixteenth named storm to form in the Atlantic Basin.
