Via mynbc15.com article.Staff members of the Mobile Airport Authority and airport planning experts will provide an update on the process to develop a Master Plan to relocate commercial passenger service to the Brookley Aeroplex. The meeting is being held at B.C. Rain High School from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
I watch local news websites fairly consistently and this is the first I've heard about this Master Plan Meeting.
Moving Mobile's commercial airport from Far West Mobile to the Brookley Aerospace facilities is a very big deal and could have significant impacts for the city and the region.
One of the biggest issues identified by members of the Block the Mobile Bayway Toll Facebook group last summer was a perceived lack of effort on the part of government officials to engage the public. A consistent theme is that officials don't do a good job of and telling people what they want to do, what it will mean for them and what it will cost.
Government officials respond to that by explaining that they publicize everything that they're required to.
There is persistent public distrust of elected and appointed officials locally, statewide and nationally. That distrust is only rivaled by distrust of the news media.
There is persistent belief by those distrusted entities that the public doesn't pay attention until either the last second or until it's too late for anyone to do anything about it. People are much more interested in stuff like the fake "vaping crisis," the fake "impeachment inquiry" and who Miley Crus is dating.
The truth is somewhere in the middle of this mass communications mess but two old adages come to mind: "Believe none of what you read and half of what you see," and "the customer is always right."
So, why the Milkman photo? Hmm... Mash here.
