Fun with the Transitive Property: Why Alabama will CRUSH Notre Dame
Published on Southern Fried Sports Network | shared via feedly
We’re SouthernFried around here. So of course we think Alabama will CRUSH the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Monday’s BCS National Championship Game. You can analyze the X’s and O’s. You can compare season statistics and team rankings on things like Red Zone offense and QB passer ratings. But what’s more demonstrative of Alabama’s ability to dominate than the infamous transitive property? What’s that? You’ve never heard of the transitive whatchamadingie? Well, it’s simple. It’s an argument based on the logic that if A is greater than B and B is greater than C, then A must be greater than C. It works great in math and logic. In football, it sometimes works and it sometimes doesn’t.
