Alabama now needs Lane Kiffin to rescue their title hopes

SithLordKiffinThere are three unbeaten teams that will be ranked ahead of Alabama following the Tide’s loss to Texas A&M Saturday night. Kansas State is throttling the Big 12. Oregon is rolling in the Pac-12 and Notre Dame is 10-0 for the first time in forever.

One team—and one coach—still likely faces two of those undefeated teams: The USC Trojans and Sith Lord Head Coach Darth Lane Kiffin.

Kansas State faces only Texas as the last serious threat to an undefeated season. The Big 12 doesn’t play a championship game this year, so beating a woeful Baylor and a rudderless Texas seems to be all but certain.

Notre Dame travels to Los Angeles to play USC on November 24. Assuming (heroically) that USC beats UCLA the week before the Notre Dame matchup, USC will then get a chance at revenge against the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 championship game.

Kevin Scarbinsky wrote that Alabama shouldn’t have to rely on the kindness of strangers to rekindle their title hopes.

Well, how about the kindness of Lane Kiffin—the coach who came so close to derailing the Tide’s title hopes in 2009?
