The University of Alabama and LSU are teaming up for a service project in New Orleans the day before the BCS National Championship game.
The Building Champions through Service project aims to register 200 students and alumni from each school to volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Southeast Louisiana on the afternoon of Sunday, Jan. 8.
Volunteers will help improve the club's facilities by painting and working on the baseball fields, and will also help efforts to beautify surrounding neighborhoods from noon to 5 p.m. Lunch will be provided and participants will receive a T-shirt.
Someone should explain to Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu what a "joint service project" really is. We don't want him to be disappointed... [helmet tap to @bol_phylomatic]
