Alvin Greene indicted on felony obscenity charges

Well, damn.  And I was really, really looking forward to the Demint – Greene senatorial debates.  They were shaping up to be the biggest political event since the Lincoln – Douglass showdowns in Illinois a few years back.

But it looks like Greene may have to debate Demint from a jail cell, since a South Carolina handed down a felony obscenity indictment against the circus candidate of the cycle:

South Carolina Democrat Alvin Greene, who prompted widespread speculation about his Senate candidacy after an upset win in the state's primary, was charged today with showing pornography to a college student.

Greene, who won 59% of the Democratic primary vote on June 8 despite having not done any traditional campaigning or fundraising, was arrested in November for allegedly showing obscene photos to a student in a University of South Carolina computer lab.

A grand jury in Richland County, S.C., indicted Greene on one felony charge of disseminating, procuring or promoting obscenity as well as a misdemeanor charge of communicating obscene materials to a person without consent, according to a statement from the county solicitor's office.

GateWay Pundit: “I suppose you have to hand it to Greene. He’s a Democrat in a hurry. After all, most Democrats have the good sense to wait until they are elected before getting indicted. THIS guy is ahead of the usual Democrat curve!”

Gimme some feedback in the comments.

I say Alvin, you say Greene. Alvin Greene. Alvin Greene.

Too bad Alvin didn't run against Lindsey Graham. He might win that race, even with the felony charge.
