Addition by subtraction? Anthony Grant suspends Tony Mitchell

Alabama suspends Tony Mitchell indefinitely

Alabama coach Anthony Grant has suspended forward Tony Mitchell indefinitely for conduct detrimental to the team.
Grant said Monday the suspension came about because of an accumulation of things and not one incident. He didn't elaborate but says the decision was made after Saturday night's double-overtime win over Mississippi.

It was the first game this season that Mitchell hasn't started. He scored 14 points in 31 minutes off the bench.
Alabama head basketball coach knows he has chemistry issues on his team. It's shown up in games, and it's shown up in the coach's press conferences following difficult losses. In suspending Tony Mitchell for conduct detrimental, you have to wonder two things:

  1. Is Grant finally getting control of the mental and emotional state of his basketball team and if so,
  2. What took so long?
