Eddie Lacy says Landon Collins won’t change his commitment

By: @LivingCrimson

Alabama celebrated an early victory against LSU with the commitment of the nation’s #1 safety Landon Collins from Dutchtown High School in Geismar, Louisiana. According to Rivals, Nick Saban has now pulled the #1 and #2 recruits out of the state of Louisiana, Collins and linebacker Denzel Devall.

Collins commitment to the Tide included an awkward moment with his Mom saying “Go Tigers”, leading to speculation by Les Miles that LSU can snatch him back from Bama before he signs his LOI. Miles’ ace in the hole is Collin’s former Dutchtown teammate, LSU safety Eric Reid, who has been actively recruiting him for the Tigers.

Crimson Tide running back Eddie Lacy says not so fast, my friend.

Lacy and Collins also played together at the same high school in Louisiana. Eddie says he doesn’t watch football very much, but made time to check out Landon’s commitment announcement at the Under Armour game. When asked if he would keep in touch with the recruit to make sure he signs papers with the Tide, Lacy laughingly said he would. Then Eddie turned serious and said Landon made the right choice and he’s not worried about his decision.

After his announcement, Landon Collins was quick to say he is very comfortable with his commitment to the Tide. The No. 7 overall player in the ESPNU 150 said, "I actually made the decision two years ago. That's been the thing for me and what I have always said. I felt so much at home at Alabama. I have so much trust in those coaches and I get along so well with the players. That is why I ultimately picked Alabama."

In other words, Collins gave a big Roll, Tide, Roll … and an emphatic LSWho?.
