Quotable:

"As honored as I am to stand before you, I would much rather, I promise you, be out in radio, newspaper or TV land watching this press conference with Mal Moore standing here, telling us what his plans are for the next year," Battle said.

When Moore is healthy enough to check out of the hospital and get back in the office, he will serve as a special assistant to UA president Judy Bonner. On Thursday, he was also named Athletics Director Emeritus.

"Even though we lost a valuable statesman for the university in Mal Moore, he will continue to be with us as a part of the university," Alabama football coach Nick Saban said. "We look forward to continuing to work with Mal."

I came to this site in the past to read about UA. Now I am greeted with an Alabama article followed by an Auburn article, an NCAA/Miami article, a Sandusky article, and an FSU article. Guess I will just go to ESPN in the future, articles are more interesting.

brinksr,

The Morning Six Pack is by far the most popular feature on this website. In the last year, it's generated hundreds of thousands of page views. I always try to include at least one story about Alabama football, but it's the offseason and stories are sometimes hard to come by.

Also, my "day job" workload has increased substantially since I became self-employed, so it's hard for me to keep up, sometimes.
