Shocka: Cleveland radio station denies Saban report

There is much wailing and gnashing of teeth across the SEC today.

The program director for Cleveland 92.3 The Fan said his station did not report that the Cleveland Browns are actively pursuing Alabama coach Nick Saban.

The rumors started when two of his hosts were discussing the possibility of a new coach at Cleveland, where Pat Shurmur has a 5-17 record in his second season, said Andy Roth.

"It was a Saturday morning talk show, and two of our hosts were discussing that if the Browns couldn't attract an NFL coach, would they pursue a college coach like Nick Saban," said Andy Roth.

I perused a number of Alabama and rival message boards before posting this. The Bama Nation was collectively amused by the whole affair, while rival fans were positively giddy over the rumor. So much for that source of entertainment.

You know what would really suck? If no one wanted Saban.
