According to IRS documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune, Weis was paid $2,054,744 between July 2010 and June 2011.

After firing Weis following the 2009 season, the school made a payment of $6,638,403 to satisfy the terms of this 10-year contract extension signed during his first season in 2005 when the Irish went to the Fiesta Bowl.

It looks like Weis was the only one with a "decided schematic advantage" in that brief tenure in South Bend.
