Chanting USA! USA! USA! at sporting events is now racist

Click here, but only if your blood pressure meds are up to date and only if you’re not prone to fits of rage over creeping political correctness. After watching their school’s team win a basketball game, the fans of the winning team broke into a time honored and familiar chant.

The losers didn’t like that. But losers never like having the victors chant anything.

The next thing you know, people will be labeling the famed Rammer Jammer and Hotty Toddy cheers racist, or sexist, or something.

SAN ANTONIO - A local school district is apologizing after an apparent incident of racism at a boys high school basketball game this past weekend.

When the final whistle blew Saturday, Alamo Heights celebrated a convincing victory over San Antonio Edison.

Alamo Heights Head Coach Andrew Brewer said he was proud of his team. "Tremendously proud,” Brewer said. “Tremendously. It's the best group of kids."

But it was just after the trophy presentation when the coach was not proud of the chant coming from Alamo Heights fans. "USA, USA, USA," they chanted.

San Antonio Independent School District officials took the chant as a racial insult to a school with all minority players from a school with mostly white ones.

On the KSAT 12 Defenders Facebook page, Santos Villarreal's post reads “this has to stop.”

SAISD Spokeswoman Leslie Price heard about the incident after it had happened.

"This is very disrespectful to our students,” Price said.

Since when is it racist or disrespectful to chant USA! USA! USA! at a sporting event, regardless of where it is played; regardless of the ethnicity of the losing team? What this tells you is that the sensitivities of everyone except Caucasians will be coddled at all costs. What it also tells you is that if the losing team is not a bunch of cracker white boys or girls, you silently take your victory home. There will be no flag-waving. No pride in school, community or country. The only logical next step is to simply stop keeping score and give everyone a trophy, like they do in preschool.

That’s Bullshit.

You lost. STFU, take your lumps, get on your bus and go back home. Work harder, and maybe you can come back and try again. If you win, then you can chant whatever the hell you want to. Allah Akbar, Vive la Mexico, Y-M-C-A. WTF ever.

This chant makes no sense. Last time I checked, San Antonio is in the USA. I am not sure I understand the point of the chant.
