Bama cornerbacks Menzie and Milliner unwrapped at today’s practice

By: @LivingCrimson

Yesterday both DeQuan Menzie (#24) and Dee Milliner (#28) practiced with heavy leg wrapping during the media viewing. Today the wraps were gone.

In response to Michael Casagrande at the Daily Bama Blog, they updated their status. Starting “Star” cornerback Menzie said a pulled hamstring has nagged him most of the season, but he should be fine Monday. Nickel cornerback Milliner said his quad started hurting against Auburn, but he also should be fine against LSU.

Milliner led the Tide in interceptions (3) this season. Menzie led in passes broken up (11).

The play of the secondary will be a key factor in the title game, and the Tide is already at reduced strength with the loss of safety Will Lowery to a torn ACL in the Georgia Southern game. True freshman linebacker-turned-safety Vinnie Sunseri has been Lowery’s primary replacement as Mark Barron’s backup in the rotation. Barron’s sore ribs are also a concern, so there is a possibility we could see more of the younger defensive players on Monday night.
