Wave clouds over Birmingham

We interrupt the football, politics and snarky chatter to bring you a totally awesome off-topic Friday post.

James Spann has several very cool images of an unusual weather phenomenon called “Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds,” which appear to look like waves lining up to crash on the beach. Spann explains that the processes involved in creating these scary looking cloud formations are exactly the same for water waves.
